Union City, Tenn.—At a short but busy special session early Thursday morning, the Obion County Schools board of education named Assistant Superintendents Nancy Hamilton and Dale Hollowell to serve as Interim Directors of the school system.
Current Director Russ Davis earlier announced his pending resignation, to be effective 30.
The board also named Davis as temporary Coordinator of Special Programs to fill out his contract.
After some discussion, the board also decided it would begin accepting applications immediately for the position of Director of Schools. They decided not to seek a consultant or go through the state school board association to find a new director. However, they reserve the right to do so if the local application process is not successful.
Anyone interested in the position can send their resumes to the school board office at 1700 N. 5th Street, Union City, Tenn., 38261.
