Dover, Tenn.–Madison Campbell, Campbell Insurance in Dover recently donated 20 golf umbrellas to the Friends of Land Between the Lakes for use by visitors to the 1850s Homeplace and Working Farm.
Campbell said “I have fond memories of the Homeplace on elementary field trips as a child. It’s an honor for Campbell Insurance to partner with the Friends of Land Between the Lakes in this small role. It is cool to think that visitors from all over the world will enjoy the umbrellas.”
Homeplace Lead Interpreter Cindy Earls said, “This is such a welcome and practical gift. Sometimes people forget their own umbrellas but still want to take a walk around the farm.”
Homeplace 1850s Working Farm and Living History Museum represents a two-generation farm and includes interpreters in period clothing doing daily chores. It is the perfect blend of artifacts, restored historic structures and traditional seasonal activities, an opportunity to relive history before the Civil War. Our livestock includes rare and endangered breeds. We cultivate many varieties of garden plants and field crops, most from heirloom seeds. There is also an interpretive center, which includes a gift shop.
The Friends of Land Between the Lakes work in partnership with the US Forest Service to provide program services, funds development and to help promote the wise and sustainable use of the Land Between The Lakes National Recreation Area.
