Lyon County, Ky.—Lyon County Judge Executive Wade White has announced that the body of the missing Fort Campbell soldier has been found.
Private First Class JuWan Richardson had been missing on Kentucky Lake since Friday afternoon. He disappeared while tubing off the back of a pontoon boat that was carrying numerous other Fort Campbell soldiers. The accident happened near the Hillman Ferry campground in the LBL.
“We have found our soldier who drowned in Kentucky Lake”, White announced on a Facebook post this morning. “Please keep his family in your prayers.”
White had earlier announced this morning that if the soldier’s body was not found today, they would begin night searches.
White also praised the emergency responders and volunteers who have been searching for Richardson’s body since the accident. Search teams from Lyon, Graves, Trigg, and Calloway Counties, the U.S. Coast Guard, and bloodhounds from the Hummingbird team have all been participating, along with the first responders from the area.
