Greer Signs Proclamation For HCMC Health Care Week

Paris, Tenn.–Employees at Henry County Medical Center were joined by Henry County Mayor Brent Greer on Monday to kick-off National Healthcare Week with a proclamation signing. National Healthcare Week 2018 has the theme of “Growing Forward.”
The nation’s largest health care event, National Hospital Week, dates back to 1921 when it was suggested by a magazine editor who hoped a community-wide celebration would alleviate public fears about hospitals during the time of the deadly Spanish flu outbreak. The celebration, launched in Chicago, succeeded in promoting trust and goodwill among members of the public and eventually spread to facilities across the country.
“The annual event provides a week to celebrate our healthcare organizations, healthcare providers and workers,” Said Lisa Casteel, CEO at Henry County Medical Center. “It allows us to continue Growing Forward to serve our community.”
A full slate of activities for 2018 were planned for 2018 including a family picnic, snacks, our annual Service Award Recognition Reception, pancake breakfast and more.
