Union City, Tenn.– It’s time for the 5th Annual Cardboard Boat Regatta on May 12 at Discovery Park of America. Start getting your materials for your boat, and gather your captains who will be sailing your ship.
But then, this fun and competitive race is just as fun to watch as it is to race. You can watch it FREE with your park admission or membership. Race time begins at 11a.m. on the South Lake!
Wanna Race? Here are the details you need to know:
1. Entry fee is $25 per team before race day. Entry fee on race day is $35.
2. Teams are made up of 2-4 members.
3. Additional team members are $14.95 (adults), $12.95 (seniors 65+) and $11.95 (children 4-12).
4. On the day of the race, all teams are required to attend the pre-race meeting at 9:00 AM.
5. Awards given to 1st, 2nd and 3rd Places.
6. Other awards: Best Team Spirit, Best Sinking Awards, and the Most Creative Boat Award
