Restaurant To Open In Historic Building As Restoration Work Continues

Paris, Tenn.—Workers take down the old Wallin Hardware awning and sign in front of the historic two-story building at the corner of Wood and Market Streets in downtown Paris. New Owner Fay Fassio said the building will be a restaurant and she will be announcing more plans later. She said, “I love that the building is full of history connected with the community. I would like to bring that back to it.” Under supervision of Master Mason Wolfgang Rackl, restoration of the building has been ongoing for the past several weeks. The building has housed several businesses over the past decades, including Hill and Freeman Grocery and Hardware Store, Luckey’s Hardware, and Wallin Hardware. WTPR was located on the second floor originally. (Shannon McFarlin photo).
