Jackson, Tenn.–On Saturday April 28th employees of the Town of Huntingdon went to Jackson State Community State College to assist in the first annual West Tennessee Safe Kids Day. Public Works employees Corey Renfroe and Jared Dunbar, Firemen Terry Spain, Adam Price and Jorge Perez, and Public Safety Director Walter Smothers and wife Tresa helped by taking a jumpy house and air slide for the children to enjoy. There were several more play places also provided for the children as well as food vendors, free face painting, and numerous booths which gave away free samples of various products. For the adults there were free safety classes available on subjects such as beginner baby sitting to home safety for the entire family. There were numerous emergency vehicles for the children to learn about including two Air Evac helicopters that were flown in. Organizers of the event from the West Tennessee Safety Coalition, Don Friddle and Jenna Eubanks, expressed their gratitude to the Town of Huntingdon for assisting in making the day a success.
