Mayfield, Ky.—The city of Mayfield was victimized by vandals who destroyed the new basketball courts installed on Housman Street. And city officials are not happy.
In a Facebook post Monday afternoon, city officials said, “Well, we thought we were doing something nice for the community when we paved and set up the new basketball courts on Housman Street. We even provided benches to rest on. We have been thanked by the chain-link fence being torn down and the benches being literally torn out of the asphalt that we placed them in. The benches will be removed, thank you for the suggestion! Now, the next thing we will remove will be the basketball goals if further vandalism occurs. We will be watching.”
