Paris, Tenn.—If you can’t be at the World’s Biggest Fish Fry Grand Parade in Paris Friday morning, you can listen to it on both WTPR AM and FM stations and on WENK AM. (On your radio dial, those are at WTPR 710 AM, WTPR 101.7 FM and WENK 1240 AM).
Commentators for our coverage this year will be former State Rep. Donald Ridgeway and his wife, Mary Kate, of Paris. Providing technical support will be Brad Hosford. And our News Director Shannon McFarlin will be covering the event and posting stories and photos on our website and Facebook pages right after the parade.
There will be plenty to see in the parade, with over 100 entries, five bands from the local area and with this being an election year, there will be plenty of local, state and federal candidates. Expected to participate in the parade are former Governor Phil Bredesen and U.S. Rep. Marsha Blackburn, both of whom are running for U.S. Sen. Bob Corker’s position, along with U.S. Congressman David Kustoff, numerous candidates for Tennessee Governor, and candidates for area offices.
The parade begins at 10 a.m. and moves down East Wood Street to Fairgrounds Road.
Grand Marshal is Retired Brigadier General Daisie (Wheeler) Boettner of Paris, with Honorary Grand Marshal the late Sonny Melton to be represented by his family.
