Aldridge, Jones Sign To Attend University Arts Programs

Paris, Tenn.–Two Henry High School seniors signed college scholarships to participate in performing arts programs at two Tennessee Universities. DaeShuana Aldridge will receive $9,200 per year for four years at the University of Tennessee at Martin, majoring in vocal performance. Taryn Jones will be receiving $5,000 per year for four years at MTSU with the opportunity to increase the amount annually. She is majoring in dance.
Aldridge has been involved with the vocal arts program at HCHS for four years and has been with The Madrigals for two years. She has performed at numerous venues, festivals and programs with the Madrigals.
Many may remember her from the Black History Month program earlier this year at the high school—she performed an emotional solo for the song “Wade in the Water” and received a standing ovation.
Aldridge’s parents are father Marcus Aldridge, stepmom Elaina Love, and mother Tequila Carnley.
Jones wants to pursue a career in dance performance or dance rehabilitation and has taken dance lessons since the age of three. She currently is working on her senior performance for May 24 and 25 at KPAC. She has starred in local performances and most recently has been studying at Dance Generations Studio.
Jones’ parents are Leland and Amy Jones.
