Paris, Tenn.—The World’s Biggest Fish Fry is hitting its stride, with the opening of the Fish Tent Wednesday night and as we reported earlier, fresh catfish will be served for the first time.

The Fish Tent opens at 5 p.m. with Paris-Henry County Jaycees welcoming everyone. And as is tradition, the Fish Tent will open with the Hostess Princess throwing the first hush puppy to her father. Hostess Princess Gracie Osbron and her court will be among dignitaries who will be serving the fish dinners.

Drew Williams of US Foods said fresh catfish have never been used before and the fish to be served Wednesday night are pond-raised, never frozen. US Foods has been supplying the fish for the Fish Tent for years.

The Fish Tent menu, as always is: Fresh fried catfish, hush puppies, French fries, slaw, white beans and drink. All you can eat for $12 (children 6-12 for $8) and as always, carry-outs are available.

The Fish Tent’s hours are 5-9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, April 25 and 26; and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday, April 27-28.

The Christian Concert also will be held from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, also at the fairgrounds. Entertainment by The Brett Perkins Band, admission $5.
