Martin, Tenn.—Four young Martin residents were arrested on charges of stealing dozens of campaign signs for one of the Weakley County Commission candidates.

Arrested were Kayla Neese, age 20; Alexis Muncy, age 19; Hannah Fesmire, age 22; and Jarrett Snider, age 20.

According to Martin Police Assistant Chief Phillip Fuqua, the quartet wrote statements confessing to stealing some 30 campaign signs when they were arrested.

The signs, belonging to Commission Candidate Jordan Long, were placed all over the area and were first reported missing the night of April 16.

On April 20, Patrolman Aaron Gallimore was on routine patrol near midnight and saw a white Toyota Corolla pull off into a private drive of a business. He then saw the car pull back onto the roadway with its lights off.

When he stopped the car, he saw several campaign signs lying on the floor board of the back seat. According to Patrolman Gallimore, Neese said they had removed the signs and that more were in the trunk.

In all, 32 signs were returned to their owner and Gallimore said only the two large signs appeared to have been damaged.
