It’s Fish Fry Time! Catfish, Clydesdales, Grand Parade, And More, Oh My!

 

Paris, Tenn.—It’s Fish Fry time in Henry County! Good catfish, the Budweiser Clydesdales, bed races, dancing in the streets—and that’s just for starters.

Two events will kick off the week-long event tomorrow morning, with the 5K Hushpuppy Dash at Henry Co. High School at 8 a.m. and the first-ever Bed Races at noon in downtown Paris.

The demolition derby will be held Saturday night at 7 p.m. at the fairgrounds.

The week is jam-packed with events every night and day, with the traditional ‘Kick-Off Street Dance’ held downtown at 7 p.m. Monday, April 23.

The carnival begins Tuesday, April 24 and continues through April 29, set up at the Henry Co. Fairgrounds.

Fairground events include the Country Dance on Tuesday, April 24, and the Fish Tent opens Wednesday, April 25 and continues through April 28. The Christian Concert is at 7 p.m. April 25 at the fairgrounds, with the Arts and Crafts Show opening April 26, and the IPRA Rodeo starting April 26, all at the fairgrounds.

The Clydesdales arrive at the fairgrounds April 27 and will be in the Grand Parade and then at the Livestock Barn for public viewing the rest of the day. The famous horses will be at the IPRA Rodeo and also will be at the Livestock Barn all day Saturday, April 28.

The Grand Parade is on East Wood Street beginning at 10 a.m. Friday.

On Saturday, April 28, there is the car show at Paris Elementary, the Small Fry Parade downtown, the catfish races downtown and the Junior Fishing rodeo at Williams Lake.
