Juvenile Charged With Two Counts Attempted Murder

Dyersburg, Tenn.—A 15-year-old Dyersburg teen has been charged with two counts of Attempted First Degree Murder following shootings Saturday.
He fled the scene following the shootings and was brought to the Dyersburg Police station by his mother. He is being held in the McDowell Center for Children pending a court appearance in Dyer County Juvenile Court.
Dyersburg Police were called to Tennova Hospital at 1:30 a.m. Saturday in reference to a gunshot victim. Officers arrived and found Brandon Tipton, 23, of Dyersburg, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Tipton reported that he was shot while at a residence in the 1200 block of Southern Avenue.
Police later identified the shooter as a 15-year-old juvenile that had fled the scene. The investigation determined that Tipton was upset with the juvenile for disrespecting his mother earlier, and words were exchanged between Tipton and the juvenile.
The juvenile’s mother was cooperative with police, and brought her son to the police department where he was charged with two counts of Attempted First Degree Murder.
A second victim, 26-year-old Dejon Clemons, of Dyersburg, was found during the investigation that had been grazed by a bullet during the shooting. Clemons did not seek medical treatment at the time of the report. Tipton was transported to Regional One in Memphis, where he is listed in stable condition.
