Union City, Tenn.—One man who was wearing scrubs and trying to pass himself off as a doctor and two others who also were wearing scrubs were arrested at a Union City pharmacy on charges involving fraud and criminal conspiracy.

Arrested was Markavius Pratcher, age 30, Shunquita Pratcher, age 21, and Tarus Devon Matthews, age 21. All list an address on Bayless Ave. in Memphis as their residence.

Markavius and Matthews were charged with fraud, forgery and criminal conspiracy, while Shunquita Pratcher was charged with criminal conspiracy.

According to the Union City Police reports, Markavius Pratcher entered Kizer’s Pharmacy around 5:30 p.m. Friday wearing hospital scrubs, glasses and carrying a leather portfolio. He opened his case and handed the clerk a script from Campbell Clinic in Germantown.

He told the clerk he had a patient in the car and needed to get her prescription filled. When the clerk asked for his driver’s license, he said he wasn’t the one needing the script, that it was for his patient. The clerk said he would have to show an ID since it was a schedule drug.

He then said, “I’ll have to go and pick her up.” The clerk then said, “I thought she was in the car”. He took the script and walked out.

A few minutes later, Matthews came in with another script.

All three were arrested and their vehicle was towed at the request of Owner Jason Kizer. There were active warrants for the female for fraud and forgery from previous incidents.
