Dresden, Tenn.–Weakley County was recently recertified as a ThreeStar county and received the Governor’s ThreeStar Award to recognize this achievement. Weakley County Chambe rof Commerce Director Barbara Virgin is shown in photo presenting a sign to the City of Dresden to be posted on one of the entry highways coming into the city to commemorate this continuing achievement by the county and the cities therein. Mayor Jeff Washburn said he was happy to receive the sign on behalf of the City of Dresden and it will be posted in the near future.
ThreeStar designation means that Weakley County is prepared for industrial recruitment and has been making advancements in public education, public health, law enforcement, and other areas required to receive the award.
