Cottage Grove Council Continues Eyeing Dilapidated Properties

 
 
 
 
Cottage Grove, Tenn.—At its regular meeting Tuesday evening, the Cottage Grove Legislative Council continued its discussion of how to handle dilapidated properties in the town.
 
Mayor David Jackson provided a review of the property violation ordinances and their history for the town. Council members discussed several properties that appear in violation and Jackson said he will invite a county official to the next meeting for more advice on best way to handle violators.
 
Treasurer Carolyn Kaminski reported there were three 2016 properties reported to the County Trustee’s office for non-payment of taxes. Plus, there are six 2017 properties that have delinquent taxes owed to the town.
 
Councilman Matthew McClure discussed possible funding avenues for a future multi-purpose building for the town.
