Union City, Tenn.—Two Union City residents were arrested on drug and weapons charges, including possession of liquid meth and syringes, following a traffic stop and search Saturday evening in the 300 block of South Second St. According to the Union City Police, the driver was a convicted felon and was driving a stolen car with a handgun inside.
Arrested were the driver, Christopher W. Lee, age 26, of S. Sunswept Dr., and Kelissa Star Forrester, age 19, of S. Ury St. Lee was charged with theft, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of marijuana. Forrester was charged with possession of meth and drug paraphernalia.
Their vehicle was stopped for a light law violation and officers could smell a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. When Lee had exited the vehicle, he told officers he had just got done smoking inside the car.
Officers told him a probable cause search would be done and he said fine. Lee said he had nothing on him, but a syringe was hiding inside his jeans in the ankle area. Lee was placed in cuffs and the search of his person continued, with a bag of high grade marijuana found in the front of his pants.
Another officer saw a syringe in plain view between the door and driver’s seat. Forrester said she had nothing illegal on her to her knowledge.
According to the report, Forrester exited the car and the officer noticed she had something concealed inside her pants that was square. Forrester was then asked to empty all of her pockets. While she was removing all the items the officer noticed that she left the large item in the front of her pants and asked her to remove it. She said “I can’t”. According to the report, she was asked why and she would not say. She was then asked what it was and she said “I don’t Know.”
Forrester at this time was placed into cuffs and she was advised of her rights and she did say she was hiding a set of digital scales and a rig, which is another name for a syringe.
Forrester eventually removed a black set of digital scales which contained Marijuana residue, along with one syringe. Forrester also said she had another rig (syringe) inside her bag which was located and did contain a liquid which she informed Cpl. Moran was was Meth.
Officers also located a black 40 Caliber Hi-Point pistol with loaded magazine between the front driver and passenger seat under the arm rest. Mr. Lee stated it was his girl’s pistol and he thought she took it out.
According to the report, Lee is a convicted felon and is not suppose to be around any type of firearm. It was also discovered that the 2019 sticker that was being displayed on the SUV was stolen. The sticker showed the number of a vehicle that had been stolen earlier that day.
