Paris, Tenn.—Thanks to a Plus Endowment grant, Lakewood students were treated to a presentation by nationally-known Meterologist Jason Lindsey—also known as “Mr. Science”.
Lindsey amazed the pre-k through 5th grade students when he popped a balloon by hovering an orange over it, turned a white flower pink, shot a bottle across the gym, filled a diaper genie with five super breaths, and made a snowfall of Styrofoam.
Lindsey also made presentations for the parents.
Lindsey is a freelance meteorologist who appears on WPSD in Paducah and WBBJ in Jackson, along with other television stations across the U.S. He also appears regularly as “Mr. Science” on the NBC Today Show and in schools doing presentations for “Hooked On Science”.
Plus Endowment is a Henry County program in which teachers are awarded grants to promote projects that go beyond the regular curriculum.
