Now, THREE Bald Eaglets At Fort Donelson

Dover, Tenn.—There’s one more little eaglet in the nest at the Fort Donelson National Battlefield. As we reported last week, two little eaglets already were born and named—Ed and Abe—by the Bald Eagles watchers who chronicle their movements every day. What a surprise then, when one of the photographers caught a photo of another tiny eaglet head in the nest. A total of 26 eaglets have been hatched at Fort Donelson since 2005 and the Bald Eagles Jack and Lizzy will be especially busy with three right now. The Bald Eagles’ nest is located near the cannons and officials ask for the public to drive slow and watch for the Bald Eagle parents flying low to bring food to the eaglets. Kathy Taylor of Dover captured this photo of the three eaglets in the nest. (Kathy Taylor photo).
