One Killed, Two Injured In Graves County Wreck

 
 
Mayfield, Ky.—A Thursday afternoon collision in Graves County resulted in a death and two injuries.
 
Nell Blalock, age 84, of Mayfield, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Graves Co. Coroner’s office. Ashley Delisi, age 32, of Pilot Oak, and her two-year-old child were injured and airlifted to separate hospitals.
 
At approximately 1:40 PM Thursday, deputies from the Sheriff’s Office and other emergency responders were called to KY 303 in the area of Moreland Road for a two vehicle collision.
When emergency responders arrived it was determined that Blalock had been southbound on KY 303 in a 2005 Chrysler mini-van. At the same time, Delisi was northbound on KY 303 in a 2007 Ford Edge. The two units met on a hill and struck head on, according to the sheriff’s office.
Blalock was killed on impact and pronounced deceased by the Graves County Coroner’s Office. Delisi had to be extricated from her vehicle by the Mayfield Fire Department. Delisi and a two year old child in her vehicle where they flown to separate Nashville area hospitals by Air Evac for treatment of their injuries. Their current status is unknown at this time. KY 303 was shut down for approximately three hours while the scene was reconstructed. Blalock and Delisi were wearing their seat belts and the two year old child was restrained in a child safety seat.
The Graves County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Kentucky State Police, the Sedalia Fire Department, Mayfield/Graves County EMS, the Mayfield Fire Department and the Graves County Coroner’s Office.
