McKenzie, Tenn.–Dr. Kimberly Martin of Union City has been appointed Vice President for the College of Professional Studies at Bethel University.
Martin is a lifelong member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Union City. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Tennessee, with her Master of Business Administration from Bethel College and her doctorate in Higher Education Leadership and Policy from Vanderbilt University.
Her lengthy history with Bethel includes former roles as Associate Director of Public Relations, Assistant Director of Institutional Effectiveness, and Director of Institutional Research for what was then Bethel College. From 2007 to 2008, she held the title of Associate Dean for Planning, Assessment, and Administration for the university.
“I feel like I’ve known Bethel all my life, but I’ve spent the last several weeks re-familiarizing myself with the college and its employees,” Martin said. ”I’ve had the opportunity to meet with most of our 94 CPS staff-members and many of our more than 200 faculty members, and really listen to their suggestions for greater efficiency and continued growth. I’m impressed with their enthusiasm, their creative ideas and their incredible work ethic, and I look forward to working with each of them.”
Prior to her return to Bethel University, Martin served as Vice President for Institutional Advancement and Continuing Education at Dyersburg State Community College for three years. During that time, she doubled annual giving, served as institutional liaison to the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), and authored or co-authored 11 grant applications totaling $2.1 million.
Kimberly Martin, husband Seth, and son Calvin will be making their home in the West Tennessee area. For more information about Bethel University’s College of Professional Studies, call 877-4BETHEL.
