Paris, Tenn.—A Stewart Co. man was arrested on charges of aggravated assault and felony vandalism following an altercation at a Paris area repair business Friday.
Arrested was Robert Hawkins, age 61, of Big Rock. According to the Henry Co. Sheriff’s Office report, Hawkins is accused of hitting someone and driving his dump truck into a parked vehicle at the business and leaving the scene.
Deputies were called to Denton’s Truck Repair on Hwy. 79 S, on a report that there was an injury after the altercation. A person at the scene said Hawkins had driven his dump truck to the business but was told he had to wait to speak to the owner. Hawkins reportedly became upset, backed his truck into a Jeep, which reportedly injured someone at the scene.
Hawkins then reportedly drove off in the dump truck. Deputy Eddie Forrest caught up with him at the 218 Bypass. Bond was set at $15,000 on each charge.
