Irish Eyes Smiling At Grand Parade

Erin, Tenn.—Irish eyes were certainly smiling today on the 56th annual 2018 Irish Celebration Grand Parade. Perfect weather brought out the crowds, with thousands lining the parade route. Former Governor Phil Bredesen greeted everyone at the Pancake Breakfast at the Erin United Methodist Church before the parade and several other politicians, including Diane Black and Marsha Blackburn were also on hand at the parade. Bredesen and Blackburn are running for U.S. Senate and Black is running for Governor. Grand Marshal Ben Hagler, Lord High Mayor Byron Cleghern, and Emerald Queen Clara Mobley were honored at the parade, as was Ms. Houston Co. 2018 Ashley Allsbrooks. Several area high school bands played at the parade, as did the Fort Campbell 101st Airborne Band.
