Union City, Tenn.—A Union City home was destroyed by fire Wednesday.
Union City Firefighters were called to 619 E. College Street around 4 p.m. According to the fire report, a portion of the roof collapsed while firefighters were extinguishing the fire.
The renters of the home told firefighters they had been asleep while drying clothes. When they walked into the laundry room, they found the fire had erupted.
The house and contents were destroyed, but no one was injured.
