Huntingdon, Tenn.—Carroll County Commissioners voted this week to gift two dead-end roads at the edge of the Carroll County 100-Acre Recreation Lake to a private Knoxville developer.
According to the McKenzie Banner, commissioners voted 18 to 1 with one abstention for the county to abandon ownership of sections of Fisherman’s Cove Road and Kyle Road and eliminate the county’s liability by transferring the property to real estate developers.
Plans are that the roads would be closed to the public and a gated residential community will be constructed. The residential community would have access to boat ramps into the 100-Acre Lake.
