By Shannon McFarlin WENK/WTPR News Director

Paris, Tenn.—No one was injured, but a semi driver was cited following a three-vehicle accident which occurred Tuesday afternoon on Hwy. 79 N at the Hwy. 218 bypass.

According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol report released to WENK/WTPR by Lt. Brad Wilbanks, two cars were stopped at the traffic light when the light turned green. A car driven by Cheryl Meador, age 59, of Paris, pulled out to turn left onto Hwy. 79.

The semi, traveling northbound on Hwy. 79 failed to stop and hit Meador, which then caused it to spin clockwise into the front end of another car driven by Cindy Shelby, age 45, of Paris.

The THP cited 60-year-old Leonardo Mendez of Brampton, Ontario, who was driving the semi, on charges of operating without due care and failure to stop for a traffic light.

According to the report, all three drivers were wearing their seat belts.
