Paris, Tenn.—Henry County Sheriff’s deputies gave away some 5,000 pounds of deer meet this morning during the department’s annual Deputies for the Hungry deer meat giveaway. Cars were lined up all the way through the back parking lot at the sheriff’s department and down to the highway for the giveaway.
Chief Deputy Damon Lowe had said earlier this week that 177 deer were donated by local hunters for processing by the department.
Sheriff Monte Belew said, “We’d like to thank everyone involved, including our sponsors, Jamie Orr with Wells Fargo and County Commissioner Kreg Kyle, and Hulmes Sporting Goods. And we want to thank everyone who donated to this cause.”
