Camden, Tenn.—The public is invited to a ‘rededication ceremony’ at the crash site that killed Country Legend Patsy Cline outside of Camden. The ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 5, at the site on Mt. Carmel Road, which is west just off of Hwy. 641.
The site has been newly-renovated with funds from a $50,000 grant. The Benton Co.-Camden Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring the event.
Patsy Cline was killed, along with Cowboy Copas, Hawkshaw Hawkins and Pilot Randy Hughes, when the plane crashed into rugged terrain during a severe storm on March 5, 1963. They were returning to Nashville from a charity performance in Kansas City.
A Dutch Treat luncheon will be held immediately afterward. RSVP to jcole@bentoncountycamden.com.
