Paris, Tenn.—At a short special meeting Monday afternoon, the Henry County 911 Board unanimously approved a contract with IDNetworks of Cleveland, Ohio, to install a CAD program for the county dispatch centers at a cost of $169,500.
911 Director Mark Archer noted he had earlier told the board to expect the project to cost $200,000, but the lower pricetag “really helps us”.
Archer recommended IDNetworks, noting that of the three finalists for the contract, it was the only one that was fully compliant in all areas requested by Archer and his staff.
Archer said ID Networks also was the unanimous choice of members of the CAD committee when it met to review the proposals last week.
The new CAD system will reduce the dispatchers’ workload by half, he said, and better coordinate the dispatch offices in the county.
Board Chairman John Etheridge noted, “Mark and his team have really done their homework. They’ve gone to look at systems using these companies and talked to dispatchers using them.”
Board Member Dr. Norma Gerrell agreed. “You’ve really done your homework. You’ve done a great job.”
