Paris, Tenn.—A sinkhole developed when part of Guthrie Road in Paris was washed out by last night’s storm. The sinkhole is between 4700-5000 Guthrie Rd. and Henry County Sheriff’s Deputies and highway crews were on the scene last night during the height of the storm to direct traffic. The sinkhole is still cordoned off and will be until it is repaired.
Elsewhere in Henry Co., rotation was detected by radar over the Cottage Grove area and tornado sirens did go off around the county, including Henry, Cottage Grove and the Paris Landing area.
The dispatcher at the Henry County Sheriff’s Office this morning said no major damage or injuries were reported from last night’s storm. A portion of India Road is still closed this morning, he said.
However, scattered power lines were down and limbs fell across electric lines, causing power disruptions to hundreds of customers on and off through the evening.
