Gleason, Tenn.—Gleason School is the latest area school to be targeted with a threat and the student responsible has been charged and taken into custody.
Weakley County Sheriff Mike Wilson said in a statement that the sheriff’s office was notified around 9 p.m. Thursday night that a message was sent through social media threatening to carry out a shooting at Gleason School.
Wilson said the Sheriff’s Office along with the Gleason Police Department, Juvenile Office and officials with the Gleason Schools met together in Gleason.
“The individual responsible was identified as a juvenile who attends Gleason School,” he said, and the suspect was brought to Gleason City Hall and questioned.
The student has been charged with harassment and filing a false report and was taken into custody and will remain in custody until arraignment in Juvenile Court.
