Union City, Tenn.—Union City Parks and Recreation Director Kenneth Morris has provided more details on the vandalism at Playground 2000 at the city’s Graham Park.
An estimate to repair the damage will be between $3,000-$4,000. Most of the damage was to the men’s restroom, where the sink was pulled off the wall, plumbing broken, lights broken and the front door damaged.
Morris said the restrooms were locked down for the winter months, with plumbing and fixtures being winterized to prevent freezing. He said the vandals gained access by destroying a deadbolt on the door which he said “is not an easy task.”
The Playground 2000 section of Graham Park has been hit heavily with vandalism lately, he said, with the wooden playground structures being the usual target.
