Spelling Bee Winners, Tenured Teachers Congratulated

Paris, Tenn.—It was a time for congratulations at Tuesday night’s Paris Special Schools District (PSSD) board meeting—congratulations for the district’s spelling champs and congratulations for the teachers who have achieved tenure.
 
Board members also heard an update on the district’s Weekend Backpack program from Allyson Palmer.
 
Building Principals introduced the Spelling Bee winners and runners-up to the board. From Paris Elementary, Chip Gray introduced runner-up Anna Daigle and winner Colby England. From Inman, Principal Jason Scarbrough introduced runner-up Toby McKinney and champion Lee Hayes.
 
Board Chairman Richard Edwards said, “On behalf of the board and the school system, we congratulate all of you.”
 
The winners will be competing in the regional Spelling Bee in Jackson on March 3.
Teachers achieving tenure are:
PES: Jane Fiscus, Ginny Hudson, Lauren Poteete.
Inman: Becky Wilson.
Rhea Elementary: Laurie Cox, Morgan Frey, Ashley Melton, Katie Taylor, Amanda White.
