Paris, Tenn.—The Henry County Sheriff’s Office and the ATF will be offering a substantial reward for information leading to the arrest of individuals who stole 12 handguns from a local gun store early Sunday morning.
The sheriff’s office has released a surveillance photo as well as video from the ‘smash and grab’ burglary, which occurred at 5:44 a.m. today at the Guns and Gear business on Hwy. 79N.
According to the press release issued by Captain Adam Jenkins, a silver early 2000s Chevy Cruze pulled into the parking lot of the store and seconds later, the car backed into the front door, destroying it in the process.
Immediately, four males wearing masks and hoodies jumped out of the car, ran into the store and came out with 12 handguns, most of which were Glocks.
Jenkins said the entire operation, from the time they hit the front door until they left, took 29 seconds.
The ATF is involved in the investigation because of the high probability that it will turn into a multi-jurisdictional investigation, crossing county and state lines, Jenkins said.
Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 731 642 1672 or its confidential hotline at 731 642 0929.
We have posted the surveillance video on the WENK/WTPR and KF99/KQ105 Facebook pages.
