Union City, Tenn.—A Memphis driver was cited for failure to keep in the proper lane of travel after he fell asleep, causing an accident on E. Reelfoot Ave. in Union City on Saturday.
Charles Brown, age 58, of Memphis, was driving eastbound on the 2800 block of E. Reelfoot when he said he must have fallen asleep and collided with a westbound car driven by Melissa Hodges, age 51, of Union City.
Hodges’ car was struck near the center on the driver’s side and had damage to the center and rear of the vehicle. A passenger in her vehicle was taken to Baptist Memorial Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
