Saturday Is First Baptist Day At Helping Hand

By Shannon McFarlin WENK/WTPR News Director

Paris, Tenn.—Saturday will be another big day at the Helping Hand Radio Auction, with First Baptist Church Day on tap.

You can expect hundreds of items to be donated and auctions all day long. The afternoon auction starts at noon, broadcast as always on WTPR-AM 710. An in-house night auction will begin at 6 p.m. and will not be broadcast.

First Baptist and First United Methodist Churches in Paris have a friendly rivalry each year to see which church can raise the most for Helping Hand. First United Methodist raised $30,760 last Saturday, so the members of First Baptist will have their work cut out for them. But you can bet that First Baptist will pull out all the stops to make sure they raise more.

Helping Hand so far has raised $179,788 this year. Last year, over $350,000 was raised, all of which is distributed to local non-profit organizations.

The auction continues through February 28.

The Auction Phone is 644-1695 and as they say—Bid High and Bid Often.
