Teachers Of Year Recognized

Paris, Tenn.—Teachers of the Year were recognized at Thursday night’s Henry County Schools board of education meeting.

Director of Schools Dr. Brian Norton presented the Teachers of the Year for each grade level in the district: Heather French for pre-kindergarten through third grade; Valerie Godina for grades 4-8; and Joey Hampton for grades 9-12.

Finalists in those grade levels were: pre-kindergarten through third grade Marcy Burkholder and Chari Fleener; grades 4-8 Ben Burkhart and Colby Prosser; grades 9-12 Paul Putman.

Dr. Norton said winners receive $500 and their names on a permanent plaque at the county schools office at Grove Tower.

The meeting was held at Grove School and Principal Tim Mason, teachers and students presented a program on goals for the school in specific areas of the curriculum, as well as goals in school culture and communication.
