Cedar Grove, Tenn.—An eight-month-old baby was killed in a single-car accident in Carroll County when her mother swerved to avoid hitting a deer and drove through a fence and up an embankment.
According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol report, Brianne Black, age 30, of Trezevant was driving on Terry Road near Cedar Grove when she swerved, ran off the side of the road, drove through the fence and up an embankment before coming to rest on the shoulder of the roadway.
Attempts to revive the baby were unsuccessful by first responders. An air ambulance also was called but was dismissed before it arrived.
Services for the baby, Liza Kay Black, were held Sunday at Bodkin Funeral Home.
