Benton County, Tenn.—Benton County Deputies are seeking a Holladay man following a pursuit today which began in Decatur County and ended in Benton County.
Warrants have been issued for William “Wild Bill” Gray, age 51.
Benton County Sheriff Kenny Christopher said the incident began when Decatur County deputies drove up on Gray and another man when they were in the process of burglarizing a residence.
He said Gray jumped in the car and took off. The pursuit led deputies into Benton County near the Nickletown-Morgan’s Creek area, at which point Gray crashed the car in the woods and bailed out, fleeing on foot.
Deputies recognized Gray, he said.
Deputies picked up his passenger, who has been cooperating, Christopher said.
Christopher said Gray is not armed and not considered dangerous. He does have a lengthy criminal history, he said.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Benton County Sheriff’s Office on his whereabouts.
