Paris, Tenn.—The victim of Monday’s shooting in Paris is in stable condition at Vanderbilt Medical Center today.
Paris Police have released the name of the victim as Lorenzo Higgs, who lives in the Curtis Street area. Higgs was first taken to Henry County Medical Center and then airlifted to Vanderbilt.
Paris Police Captain Ricky Watson told WENK/WTPR that Higgs “does have injuries that are significant. The last update we had is that he is in stable condition.”
Tyrone D. Harris, age 20, of Gilbertsville, Ky., was arrested shortly after the shooting and is charged with attempted first-degree murder and possession of marijuana. Watson indicated yesterday that more charges are pending and he said that still is the case.
Harris is being held in the Henry County Jail on $250,000 bond.
The shooting occurred at the Washington Courts housing complex, but neither the victim or suspect live in the housing development.
At the scene, officers determined that the incident began in one of the apartments and continued outside.
Harris ran from the scene after the shooting and was apprehended in a field just south of Knott’s Foods, which is nearby.
