By Shannon McFarlin WENK/WTPR News Director
Paris, Tenn.—The Helping Hand Radio Auction took another step closer to the $100,000 mark today, with the $3,136 raised, which brings this year’s grand total so far to $95,017. Today’s items were donated by the Palestine community, Central Point community, First Church of the Nazarene and Bridge of Hope Church.
It’s a sure bet that the $100,000 mark will be reached Saturday, which is Educator’s Day. And, there will be two auctions Saturday, an afternoon auction and the first night auction this year.
The afternoon auction begins at noon and will be aired on WTPR-AM 710. The night auction will be aired at KQ 105.5 and begins at 6:30 p.m.
Each year, thousands of dollars are raised by volunteers for a long list of non-profit organizations in the county. Last year, over $350,000 was raised by Helping Hand.
Helping Hand will run through February 28 and is held each day at the Henry County Fairgrounds. The Helping Hand Radio Auction is broadcast daily on WTPR AM 710 beginning at 12:30 p.m., and on Saturdays at noon.
Auction phone is 644 1695. Bid high and bid often!
