Jones Sentenced To Five Years For 2011 Fatal Accident

Paris, Tenn.—A former Paris man who was traced to Mississippi when he was arrested in November, was sentenced to five years in jail following his guilty plea to vehicular assault.
Emmitt Paul Jones, age 33, pleaded guilty in the death of 19-year-old Tony Martez Teague, who was killed in an accident on Rison Street in Paris. Jones was driving the vehicle.
Jones had been indicted in 2012, but never appeared for court. A capias warrant was issued for Jones’ arrest and Henry County Sheriff’s Deputy John Krezinski transported Jones from Picayune, Mississippi, to the Henry County Jail in November.
Jones’ sentence will be split, with one year served in continuous confinement and the balance on supervised probation. He was given credit for 73 days already served in jail.
