Oklahoma City, Okla.—Puryear Native Corey Bailey has brought the World Championship Bull Riding Trophy back to Tennessee—again. And he also met his own goal he set last year.
Bailey, 26, said after his World Championship win last year that his goal is “to win another World Championship”.
At this year’s contest in Oklahoma City, Bailey won the first two rounds and the average to go on to win the World Championship for the second consecutive year. “I want to thank my family and friends for sticking behind me,” he said.

“My plans for 2017 are to win another world championship and this time come into the finals with enough of a lead I don’t have to worry about them catching me,” said Corey.
Bailey was a 2009 graduate of Henry County High School and began to map out his career in professional rodeo even while in high school. He claimed the Tennessee State Championship in bull riding three times.
