Paris, Tenn.-A Cadiz man is in the Henry County Jail on charges of DUI, evading arrest, reckless driving and driving on a revoked license after he led a Henry County Sheriff’s deputy on a lengthy chase early Sunday morning.
Adam Christopher Wilson, age 42, of Cadiz, was arrested by Deputy Frankie Scott after the chase which began around 5:30 a.m. in the Paris Landing area.
Scott was responding to a call about a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed into Henry County across the Ned McWherter bridge on Hwy. 79. According to Scott’s report, he clocked Wilson going at over 120 mph during the chase.
Scott pursued Wilson and signaled for him to stop, but Wilson kept driving and turned into an RV park along the highway and the gates closed behind him. Scott was unable to get through the gates and after parking, walked toward the park, at which point Wilson pulled out of the park and onto Hwy. 79, speeding toward Paris.
According to his report, Scott stopped the renewed pursuit after Wilson drove through a four-way stop on E. Antioch Rd. and almost hit another vehicle. Scott then saw Wilson again near Buchanan Resort and again signaled for him to stop with his lights and siren.
At that point, Wilson again sped off, traveling to Lakeview Drive and finally stopping on Gracey Drive. Scott immediately noticed an odor of alcohol and Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper Josh Wade conducted a field sobriety test on Wilson.
