Paris, Tenn.—Despite many rural roads still being snow-covered, the Whitlock community came together Saturday, raising $5,497 for the Henry County Helping Hand Radio Auction. The grand total now is $64,672. Today’s items—which featured a wide array of homemade baked goods and crafts–were donated by the Whitlock community and Whitlock Volunteer Fire Department.

Helping Hand will run through February 28 and is held each day at the Henry County Fairgrounds. The Helping Hand Radio Auction is broadcast daily on WTPR AM 710 beginning at 12:30 p.m., and on Saturdays at noon. Auction phone is 644 1695.

Each year, thousands of dollars are raised by volunteers for a long list of non-profit organizations in the county. Last year, over $350,000 was raised by Helping Hand.

Monday’s items will be donated by Henry County government employees, Trinity United Methodist Church, Master Gardeners and the Arts Council.

Tuesday’s items will be donated by the Cottage Grove community, Center community and Interrail Signal.

On Wednesday, items will be donated by Jones Mill/Hico community, Morningside of Paris, Tennessee River Fine Arts League and Kroger.
