Paris, Tenn.—Two young Paris boxers are advancing to the National Silver Gloves Tournament to be held in Independence, Mo., later in January.
Demarcus Patton Howard and Cam’ron Patton competed in the regional tournament January 11-13 in Little Rock. The Silver Gloves is an advancing tournament for fighters ages 8-14.
Howard was unopposed at the Regional level in his age and weight class. Coach Derik Moon said, “He is excited to go to Nationals but he had rather fight for his spot than go unopposed. He is ready to fight and bring home a belt.”
Cam’ron Patton had to win two bouts to qualify. Cam’ron defeated his first opponent with a Technical Knock- out. His opponent’s coach threw in the towel during the second round. Cam’ron won his second bout by a unanimous decision. Coach Moon is very proud of Cam’ron’s performance.
