Union City, Tenn.—A driver’s license left in a stolen vehicle led to the arrest of two men Friday evening by Union City Police.
Blake A. Sanders, age 32, of Marmaduke, Arkansas, and Louis C. Gray, Jr., age 27, of Paragould, Arkansas, were arrested on theft charges after the stolen vehicle was found parked in front of a Union City convenience store.
Police located the maroon 2004 Ford Ranger in the parking lot of Pocket’s on W. Reelfoot Ave. around 10:30 p.m. and the vehicle was unoccupied, displaying the tags of a vehicle that had been stolen in Paragould and entered into the NCIC.
Police conducted an inventory of the vehicle and found the driver’s license belonging to Sanders. A call to Paragould dispatch confirmed that the owner of the stolen vehicle was not Sanders and he could be a suspect.
Both Sanders and Gray were located inside Walmart by Patrolman Ben Burnett and after they were read their rights, they admitted being in possession of the stolen vehicle.
