Benton, Ky.—Thanks to ingenuity from the guys at the Benton Electric System, the Mayfield Highway is now open through Benton, Ky. It had been blocked by a semi stuck in the roadway and Benton Police had projected it would take several hours for it to re-open. But, the Benton Electric System employees towed the semi off the roadway and Mayfield Highway was re-opened in an hour. Earlier, in Marshall County, all lanes in 1-24 were blocked due to several crashes, some of which involved semis. That has since been cleared off. (Benton Police photo).
