Paris, Tenn.- County Mayor Brent Greer has made the decision to delay the opening of the Henry County Courthouse, Annex, Central School Community Building and Health Department until 9 a.m. in the morning, Tuesday, January 16,. A decision about any further closure of the Courthouse and others will be made if necessary and announced in the morning as well.
The Henry County Recycling Center will open at 8 a.m.
General Sessions Judge Vicki Snyder has also announced she will reschedule all criminal court cases set for tomorrow, January 16 to next Tuesday, January 23, at 9 a.m. in order to give those attending Court the ability to travel safely.
Current forecasts include more accumulation of snow tonight and tomorrow morning with temperatures well below freezing. That combined with the current ice, snow and slush on the roadways could make driving very difficult and unsafe.
There is no court currently scheduled for tomorrow in Circuit, Juvenile, Chancery or Probate. Those courts will not be affected by this announcement.
Emergency Management Agency Director Ron Watkins said Henry County is under a Winter Weather Advisory untill 6 am Tuesday morning. Employees and the media will be notified of any decision made in the morning whether or to remain closed due to worsening hazardous weather conditions.
